Preparing metal cargo starts with collecting its basic characteristics. Preliminary information helps identify what must be clarified before a vehicle is dispatched.
Cargo type and condition
State whether the shipment is scrap metal, copper, cable scrap, rolled steel products or metal structures. Explain how it will be presented for loading: loose, bundled, coiled, stacked or in another agreed form.
Weight, volume and dimensions
Provide the approximate total weight and volume. Long or unusual items also require length, width and height. If the figures are preliminary, say so in the request.
Site conditions
Provide the addresses, site contacts, access conditions and information about who will load and unload the cargo. Any change in quantity or cargo form should be reported before dispatch.
Positioning and securement
Vehicles are equipped with load stanchions and securing straps. The specific positioning and securement approach is selected for the cargo shape and dimensions.
